Mini Selfridges Haul

As I've nearly finished my degree and have only a few excuses to venture into central London, I thought I'd take the opportunity to have a quick peak in one of my favourite stores of all time, Selfridges. And, quite typically, I left with a few goodies!
As you can see from above I got; a Tweezerman Folding ILash Comb, a Kiehl's Eye Cream, a Brow and Lash Gel from Illamasqua and Lip Tar from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.
I chose to get the Tweezerman Folding ILash Comb because quite often I would like to separate my lashes before, or after I've used mascara. I find that they can naturally group together, so regardless of whether or not I'm using mascara, this little gadget will come in handy. The comb itself is gold plated and overall its a lovely, and useful, little product. It retails for £8.50 - not too bad at all!
I was in need of a new eye cream and was open to suggestions. Having wondered around for a while, I saw many different ones. I was reluctant to spend a great deal of money (i.e. £40+) on a brand I haven't used before, but I definitely wanted to trying something new. So in the end I purchased the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado for a reasonable £20. Being only 21, I don't have massive concerns for my under-eye area, but I do know that it is quite a dehydrated part of my face and I am prone to dark circles. This cream has a very rich texture; you only need a very small amount, you rub it between your fingers and pat it over the under-eye area. It took me a little while to get used to this product, while blending it in it almost turns to a water-like consistency on your skin - I wasn't sure if I'd dried my face properly after cleansing! But once I got used to that I really enjoy using it, it certainly keeps the area hydrating and will definitely last me a very long time.
I decided to get a brow gel a few weeks ago. At first, I never really thought I would need something to 'keep my brows in place', I'm quite fortunate that when I fill them in, the colour lasts all day and doesn't come off, so I've never needed a wax or gel for that reason. However, I have noticed recently that sometimes my actual brow hairs don't stay in perfect position. So I picked up Illamasqua's Lash and Brow Gel for £11.50. I liked that I couldn't feel the product on my brows that much, I've never been a fan of a waxy/gel-like feel on my brows, but the Illamasqua one dries very quickly. I wouldn't say it is the most effective gel out there - probably because you can't feel it that much when its on! - but it does the trick for me. If you have particular stubborn brows you might want to try something with a little more staying power.
The Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tar. I'd seen this brand a few time online and being a sucker for a new, 'different' brand, I bought this on an impulse! I like that it came with a little brush, unlike most beauty items that come with brushes, you can actually use this one! This product set me back £11.50. I bought it in the shade ???? The colour I chose doesn't look great on me when applied heavily, but when I pop a little on and blend it over my lips, I get a nice nude/pink colour - great for an everyday spring/summer look. I am tempted to try a more daring colour in this range like Anime or Psycho and really test the product's staying power and full intensity.
