Bourjois Bronzing Powder

This Bourjois product is a cult beauty product for many. Few (if any!) people in the bloggersphere have not heard or used this bronzer (which retails for £6.99). So of course, I had to try it to see what all the fuss was about. I bought this quite a few months ago and haven't got round to properly reviewing it until now.(Oops!)
Initially, I wasn't sure if it was a product that I was going to review. There is soo much already online about it that I thought there would be little point for me to write a post that just echoed the views of many.

However, having tried it many times now, I can't say that I am as much of a fan of it as I know many people are. So I thought that there may be some use in a little write up of my thoughts.

I really like the golden undertones of the bronzer; cinnamon/red toned bronzers don't suit my skin so I tend to avoid those. Admittedly though, I would like the product to be slightly darker, as although I only lightly apply bronzer to my skin on a day to day basis, the product is slightly to light to make a significant difference to my make up. The scent is also quite nice, it is quite a light 'sweet chocolate' smell I would say - this is not a make or break feature for me in a bronzer, just a little bonus I guess!

Now, the reason why I am not such a fan. I have found the over time the powder has become really difficult to apply. It has formed a hard, shiny layer on the surface; the kind the you can get from using the product with a wet brush - which I certainly haven't! I have tried to buff away the surface layer to no real avail. I store the product correctly and never leave it with the lid open unnecessarily and have still had this trouble. Such a shame considering it is such a good colour compared to many other drugstore bronzers.
I'd be really interested to hear other people's thoughts on this, especially if you've experienced the same issue that I am having. Please comment below!
