Beauty Exhibition Purchases

From the age of 13, I've gone to the Excel Beauty Exhibition every year. My Mum has a beauty salon/medispa so it isn't too hard to guess how my beauty obsession grew!

As well as looking at the more aesthetic treatments and innovations that are new to the market, I always like to take a gander and the stands that actually retail at the show - I never pass up an excuse to shop!

The OPI stand is always absolutely packed. It is definitely one of my favourites to go to, I love to get the scoop on what's new as well as have the chance to top up on any essentials I might need. I only got two things from there this time, a very tame trip! I got the DS Radiance top coat, a top coat with diamond dust in it that makes every nail polish shine amazingly! I also got a glitter polish called 'all sparkly and gold'. Which, although I'm not looking forward to getting off, but I can't wait to see what it looks like on!

Next up, Fake Bake's Flawless self-tan liquid. Now I know what you're thinking, I'm Indian - what do I need fake tan for?! Now, while I can't claim to have pale skin, my legs are definitely 'pastey' in comparison to the rest of me. Not to mention that I like using products like these, even if only lightly, to give my skin more of a glow; it can get rather dull.

I also visited the Crown Brush stand. I have been meaning to purchase the Real Techniques expert face brush, but seeing as I came across these first and I'd never had one before I thought it would be worth a try. As you can see from the picture, I've already used the brush. I don't prefer it to my buffing brush but it is a nice addition to my collection and does buff in foundation well.

And last but not least we have a few things from NYX cosmetics. NYX is yet to make a splash in the UK, I'm hoping that seeing the brand at the exhibition means that it is becoming more widely available throughout the country. Their products are really reasonably priced, so I justified a three-product purchase! I got a butter gloss, an eyebrow pencil and an eyeshadow crayon. All of which I am really liking right now. The staying power of the eyeshadow crayon could be improved, but the eyebrow crayon and the butter gloss are certainly up to scratch. I really want to try a foundation from the brand next to see how they compare with others in the same price range.

So there you have it, my beauty exhibition purchases!
